There are cats everywhere you turn in this country. Most look healthy enough, though there’s no neutering or spaying going on based on the number of kittens. People do leave boxes for shelter, kibble and water, but there does not seem to be extensive veterinary care, and only the lucky survive. Here’s my gallery so far….

AWWWW The widdle tuxedo!!!!
Awesome gallery! Are you sure none snuck aboard?
Trip checks my bags repeatedly to make sure we have no stowaways, much as I keep trying…
We have been in Morocco for 3 months, amazed that cats will just lay down wherever they happen to be, whether it be in the middle of a side walk, a door way, or in a street, and humans will avoid them rather than disturb them.
Then we came to the realization that it is really the cats country and they tolerate the humans as long as they continue to serve the cats and avoid annoying them.
I think you are exactly right! I’ve never been somewhere where the cats simply know that they have trained the humans so well!
